Manchester City close to signing Tottenham’s Kyle Walker ahead of United, Chelsea
Manchester City are close to agreeing a £40 million deal with Tottenham for England defender, Kyle Walker.
Walker attracted interest from other big names in the Premier League, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
But the Reds did not push much for a deal and Walker was reluctant to go to Chelsea, which according to Daily Star, was a far destination to his family, who live in Sheffield.
Pep Guardiola made 27-year-old one of his priority targets ahead of the summer window.
Walker has now opted to join Manchester City in a deal that will earn him around £100,000-a-week.
Talks between the two parties have reached the final stage and City are reportedly set to match Daniel Levy’s £40m valuation of the player.
Aside Walker, City are also being linked with Premier League stars, Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Sanchez.
