'Using grade D media to push grade A information will only give you grade D reach' Comedian Alibaba berates President Buhari's media handlers
Comedian Alibaba took to his twitter handle to berate the media
handlers of President Buhari. He wondered if Chude Jideonwo and Debola
Williams of Red Media are still part of the President Buhari
administration.
'How many of you recall the alternative stories that were being churned out by APC opposition just to make people believe Buhari was dead? That was exactly what happened with the school feeding programme. As far as I am concerned, the communication dynamics of this Buhari government leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when they wait only to counter issues. Because if they had been pushing out information on project regularly, there would be no vacuum for mischief makers to plant fake videos that will rubbish their efforts. Told some celebrities during some of our usual hangouts, that, the days of letting people write narratives that shape or disfigure our realities have passed. With the new media you can tell your story well and by yourself. The circulation of that your story as told by you then forms the content of discussions. Otherwise, the fake news, rumours and negative stories would then be what shapes opinion about you. Years ago I ignored people who said "Ali Baba is no more funny". Until I did my 6 hours stand up performance. Then I started posting stuff online. Now the story is, "let him let others shine". People will write you off if you doze off on your career. Government agencies need to stop hoarding information. Let people know what you are doing. Like this video, it misses the mark. Don't use still pictures. Use videos in videos. See what a faceless video did to your hard work? Wetin I sabi? Shebi I am just a comedian?'
